Widespread Flight Delays as Storms Slam 
the U.S. East Coast
   
Severe thunderstorms and residual tropical storm conditions are causing major disruptions at airports along the U.S. East Coast as of July 15th, with widespread delays and cancellations reported. The Federal Aviation Administration issued multiple ground stops from Florida to New York, affecting key hubs like John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), where delays are stretching over three hours. Flash flood warnings are also in effect across New York City, which may impact ground transport. 

More than 8,800 U.S. flights were delayed and over 1,600 were cancelled, according to FlightAware. Airports in Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Baltimore, and as far west as Denver are also experiencing ripple effects. Florida is bracing for tropical downpours beginning Tuesday, while a cold front continues to push severe weather up the coast, signaling continued potential disruptions throughout the week.
