Severe Storms Disrupt Texas Travel

Severe thunderstorms swept through Texas on the morning of May 28th, triggering significant travel disruptions and flash flood concerns across the region. A ground stop at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, caused by the storms, led to at least 21 flight cancellations and hundreds of delays. Although the ground stop has been lifted, flight operations remain heavily backed up.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service has issued flash flood warnings for several parts of south-central Texas, including San Antonio, Boerne, and Schertz. Prolonged and heavy rainfall is overwhelming drainage systems and posing a serious risk of rapid flooding in low-lying areas.
