NJ Transit Strike Threatens Regional Commutes

New Jersey Transit train engineers may go on strike starting Friday, May 16th, potentially disrupting travel for many commuters. If the walkout occurs, all NJ Transit commuter trains will be suspended, impacting travel to key locations like Penn Station and Newark Airport.

In preparation, NJ Transit plans to offer a limited expanded bus service and chartered routes from select park-and-ride locations. However, these buses are expected to accommodate only about 20% of regular rail passengers. Travelers are strongly advised to complete any essential trips before midnight or consider alternative travel options.
