Airport Fire Grounds Flights at JAX

A structure fire erupted in the Hourly Parking Garage at Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) in Florida early on May 16th, prompting a full closure of the airport. Emergency crews quickly responded and have since contained the fire. While no injuries have been reported, authorities have confirmed structural damage to the garage.

All flight operations have been suspended until at least 4:00 PM EST, May 16th, and significant delays are expected to continue even after the airport reopens. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has also restricted road access to and from the airport as a precaution.
