Humana Partners with Assist America for Global Emergency Services

Louisville, Ky. and Princeton, N.J.—(September 5, 2007)—Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) announced today that it has partnered with Assist America to bring a new benefit to its members in Kentucky that will provide global emergency medical assistance when they travel.  From simple doctor referrals to complex intercontinental evacuations and more, Assist America will connect these Humana members with U.S.-style medical care.    

Effective immediately, Assist America will support Kentucky-based fully-insured Humana members and their families with an array of services, including medical referral and monitoring, emergency medical evacuation, medical repatriation, hospital admission guarantee, compassionate visit transport and more, if they become ill or injured while traveling 100 miles or more away from home.  Assist America has already been providing these services to Humana’s Puerto Rico-based division.
