Assist America Supports Diveheart Foundation’s Summer Adventure Program

Providing emergency medical services to disabled scuba diving participants

-------

Princeton, New Jersey, July 6, 2005—This summer, disabled participants of the Diveheart Foundation attending scuba diver protection programs in the Florida Keys will have peace of mind knowing that they are protected with comprehensive travel assistance services.  Assist America, the nation’s largest provider of global emergency services through employee benefit plans, is donating coverage for 27 program participants in conjunction with Vicencia & Buckley Insurance Services, Inc. (“V & B”), the scuba diving industry’s leading insurance agency and administrator.

The Diveheart Foundation, a non-profit volunteer organization that introduces scuba diving and related water activities to individuals with disabilities, is arranging three trips in June and July for disabled youth to travel to the Florida Keys.  The program is an extension of hospital therapy at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Shriners Children’s Hospital and Fox Valley Special Recreation Association.

“Insurance is designed to cover the unexpected,” said Steve Vicencia, CPCU, V & B’s President and Chief Executive Officer.  “Planning for any contingency – sports or travel related – should be standard operating procedure.  We provide insurance to thousands of divers, instructors and divemasters, as well as dive centers and resorts around the world.”

“Supporting the Diveheart Foundation in coordination with Vicencia & Buckley, is a natural extension of our program with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (“PADI”), the largest recreational dive training and certification organization in the world,” said Assist America President George W. Howard, III.   “Members of PADI as well as V&B’s Diver Protection Program, carry an Assist America card.  One toll free phone call assures them of the highest quality emergency medical services available wherever they travel.”
